Mr. Leitch joined Hildene Re as Chief Executive Officer in July 2024 where he and his team manage a Cayman Islands-based life and annuity reinsurance platform. He has spent the last decade scaling and managing a broad range of structures and platforms primarily in Grand Cayman, but with direct experience in the US and Bermuda as well. With more than 16 years of experience as a part of multiple insurance enterprises with different objectives and core competencies, Mr. Leitch has managed a variety of insurance liabilities alongside a diverse set of asset strategies with success in both M&A and reinsurance transactions spanning from initial strategy development to modeling, execution and ongoing platform management. Mr. Leitch is very active within the reinsurance industry and was recently elected as the Vice Chairman of the Board of the Cayman International Reinsurance Companies Association (“CIRCA”). He holds a Bachelor of Business from Baylor University and has been an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries since 2013. In 2018, he became a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst. Mr. Leitch is a Caymanian who lives in Grand Cayman with his wife and 7 year old son.
