Lisa-Ann Hurlston-McKenzie
Senior Policy Advisor (Environment & Resiliency), Ministry of Sustainability & Climate Resiliency
Lisa Hurlston-McKenzie is the Senior Policy Advisor for Climate Resiliency at the Cayman Islands Government Ministry of Health, Environment & Sustainability, bringing 30 years of public/private partnership building. She is a certified Climate Change Professional (CC-P®) and LEED-accredited green building specialist focused on climate risk management, resilience, and finance.
Lisa spearheads national and organisational climate strategies, including efforts to integrate climate resilience into planning and decision-making. She currently leads the development of a Resilience Index to operationalise and monitor climate resiliency in the Cayman Islands as a data-driven exemplar for Small Island Developing States.
Lisa’s work intersects with stakeholders across sustainability, disaster, and financial advisory spaces.
A director of local carbon offsetting NPO Island Offsets which offers companies impactful ways to meet their climate objectives, Lisa also sits on the international Association of Climate Change Officers (ACCO) board. She previously chaired the National Conservation Council’s climate change subcommittee, served on National Trust Council, and judged the Governor’s Conservation Awards and Governor’s Award for Design and Construction Excellence in the Cayman Islands.
