Jo is a partner in Maples and Calder’s Funds & Investment Management team based in the Cayman Islands. Acting for a range of investment advisers, from start-up managers to the most sophisticated sponsors across a broad spectrum of asset classes, Jo advises on all aspects of Cayman Islands investment funds from fund formation to downstream transactions. She is regularly instructed to advise on fund and upper-tier reorganisations, including spin-outs, manager acquisitions and succession planning.

Prior to joining the Maples Group in 2007, Jo established a successful practice at the Commercial Bar in London. Jo regularly speaks at industry conferences and contributes to publications on fund-related matters. She served as the initial co-chair of the Cayman Islands Chapter of 100 Women in Finance and has twice been profiled as one of 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds. She has been ranked over consecutive years by Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal and IFLR 1000, where she is described as “an exceptional lawyer; my first call for any complex Cayman matter” and “an absolute star.
