James Trundle
Chair, IMAC
James Trundle is the Chair of the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC), a key association for promoting and preserving the Cayman international insurance industry, to maintain its advantageous market position.
Outside of IMAC, James is the Vice President, Client Lead at Global Captive Management (GCM), having joined them in February 2023 – and has over 20 years of experience in the captive space.
James was born in Wales and graduated from the University of Warwick in 2001. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, having qualified with Deloitte in 2004. James spent 2 years in Bermuda with Deloitte as a captive insurance auditor prior to transferring to the Cayman Islands in 2009, where he spent over 2 years with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA), regulating the captive insurance industry.
In 2012, James moved into captive insurance management with Kane, now known as Artex Risk Solutions. Specialising in group captives, insurance linked securities and single parent captive structures, James moved on from Artex after 11 years, having progressed to the role of Director.
James brings deep regulatory and management experience to his role at IMAC, supporting the continued growth and global standing of Cayman’s captive insurance sector.
