Gary Harris is a Partner at the Walkers Cayman Islands Insurance Group, advising insurers, reinsurers, asset managers, and captive owners on cross-border (re)insurance transactions and regulatory issues.

Gary brings a rare combination of senior in-house leadership and offshore market experience to the convergence of insurance, capital, and regulation. He previously served as the Head of Legal and Compliance at a market-leading multibillion-dollar asset-intensive reinsurer, as General Counsel at a PE-backed casualty reinsurer, and as an Insurance Partner at a leading offshore law firm in Bermuda.

Prior to moving to Cayman, Gary had also served in a ministerially appointed advisory role to the Bermuda insurance sector, shaping policies on regulatory changes and market expansion. Currently, he works with investors, c-suites, boards, and other stakeholders on structuring, governance, and enterprise risk management related to complex offshore reinsurance arrangements.
