Clayton is a Director in the Actuarial & Insurance Solutions (AIS) practice of Deloitte’s Bermuda office with over 15years of experience in the life and health insurance industries. He has a diverse background in pricing, valuation, and risk management of long-term (re)insurance products. In his current role, Clayton specializes in regulatory advisory services related to Bermuda and the Caribbean. 

Relevant Experience

• Strong working knowledge of insurance products under various accounting standards, including US GAAP, IFRS, and Solvency II.
• Established as an expert on BMA and CIMA regulatory requirements for reserving and capital, advising (re)insurance entities on capital management, reserving methodologies and insurance licensing.
• Led in-depth actuarial audits on life reinsurers performing assumption appropriateness reviews, model validations, and independent recalculations of complex reserves. 
• Serve as Approved Actuary in Bermuda, as well as Appointed Actuary and Peer Review Actuary in Cayman for numerous life (re)insurance entities
  • Support development of actuarial models and model risk management frameworks for (re)insurance entities
  • Deliver actuarial support for audit for long-term liabilities under US GAAP and IFRS reporting standards
  • Develop proforma financial statements and capital models under GAAP, IFRS, and Bermuda EBS
  • Provide strategic advisory on offshore reinsurance strategies and structuring
