Justin’s background is in engineering; he completed an undergrad in mechanical engineering at the University of Ottawa, where he was a dean’s honor List student and a co-founder of the uOttawa Rocket team which grew to 25+ members. Justin would go on to do a Master’s degree split between mechanical engineering and computer science. His research focus was on predictive maintenance reliability using sensors and historical maintenance data, where he published 4 papers on machine learning.

During grad school Justin also co-founded a stealth-mode startup that leverages sensor data for warranty applications. The startup raised $1.2M in funding and grew to over 20 employees before his exit.

Under Justin’s leadership, Scription has raised $2.5M USD in oversubscribed funding rounds, and works alongside top name brands such as McDonald’s and Wendy’s to implement subscription-based maintenance programs for commercial and industrial equipment.
