Jeff Mulholland
CEO, RAS Company
Jeff Mulholland was the CEO of RAS Company Ltd., an advisor to private equity firms, hedge funds, insurers, and reinsurers in the offshore reinsurance sector.
Mr. Mulholland was the founder and leader of PwC’s Insurance Structured Finance Group that worked with private equity firms, hedge funds, global reinsurers, and global insurers as their “trusted advisor” across insurance and reinsurance markets. Mr. Mulholland grew the team from 0 to 24 financial engineers and actuaries over his four years leading the business.
Immediately prior to joining PwC, Mr. Mulholland founded and led Societe Generale’s market leading longevity business, which executed one of the seminal transactions with Aegon, and won the award as “Best Bank for Longevity Risk” from Insurance Risk in 2014.
Prior to Societe Generale, Mr. Mulholland worked for 20 additional years in the investment banking and hedge fund sectors, with his longest tenure at Goldman Sachs, where he successfully founded and ran three businesses:
-Founded and led Goldman Sachs’ first offshore reinsurance company as its President (working for the head of proprietary trading, Jacob Goldfield);
-Founded and led their market leading sales and trading business in insurance linked securities (working for Jacob Goldfield); and
-Founded and led the fixed income derivatives business for Goldman Sachs for North American insurers and reinsurers.
Additionally, while leading Citigroup’s Insurance Structured Products Group, Mr. Mulholland structured, distributed, and executed the first sidecar with hedge fund/private equity capital with Citadel, JC Flowers, and Citigroup as the investors in Hannover Re’s K3 transaction. Soros was included as an investor in a subsequent transaction for another client.
Mr. Mulholland graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Wharton School and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
