Mr. Dombowsky has been a resident of the Cayman Islands for 30 years working in the banking, reinsurance and insurance sectors. Together with Knighthead Capital Management, LLC.,  Mr. Dombowsky co-founded Knighthead Annuity & Life Assurance Company and served as its CEO from inception in 2014 to June 30, 2023.  During this period, Mr. Dombowsky successfully drove the firm’s development growing the company to more than $5 billion of assets while achieving A category ratings from multiple rating agencies, increasing available capital to more than $700 Million and implementing comprehensive enterprise risk management practices. Mr. Dombowsky began his career in corporate credit with RBC Financial Group in locations across Canada and the Caribbean before assuming executive level positions with insurance and reinsurance companies located in the United States and Bermuda. Mr. Dombowsky holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics from University of Regina (Canada) and an M.B.A. from the University of Miami where he was recognized as class valedictorian.
